For years, Jutel was nothing more than a childhood memory for many Quebecers. Disappeared from store shelves, this drink with a unique taste of skim milk and fruit juice left behind a nostalgic void. But Cynthia Lapointe, director of the Kerry plant in Bellechasse, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, decided to remedy this. Convinced that Jutel deserved a second life, she took on the challenge of bringing it back to the market.
The journey was not without its obstacles. Convincing the head office in Ireland to relaunch a discontinued drink was no easy task. Yet, Cynthia persevered, determined to find the exact taste of her childhood. It took months of research and testing to perfect the recipe, adapting it to today’s expectations while preserving its original essence.
Today, Jutel is back – and consumers are snapping it up. A beautiful testament to the power of nostalgia, and the determination of a passionate woman.
