Actress, singer, fashion icon and muse Jane Birkin died in France last Sunday.

Birkin was in Quebec City back in 2018 to perform at the Festival d’été de Québec.

I had the enormous privilege to interview Jane Birkin before the show.

The conversation took place the day before Birkin performed the songs of Serge Gainbourg at the Parc de la Francophonie with the Orchestre symphonique de Québec.

To this day, this is one of the most important moments in my career.

Jane was so generous with me after the interview, saying the words that I will never forgot : « you’re such a good listener ».

We spoke of simple things like life and the importance of friendship.
